Multiplying A Number With 14: Using this method we can multiply any number with 14 in a very easy way. Such type of Techniques of Vedic Maths help us to perform calculations in a much faster way. Mastering such type of techniques is very essential in Competitive Exams where time is very precious
For example let us multiply 6254 and 14
Method: We will prefix a 0 before the number. The number becomes 06254. We will multiply the digit at unit place with 4. Thie unit place of the resultant number will be the unit place in the answer and the reamaining will be the carry. Then we will multiply the next number with 4 and add the previous number. The unit place of the resultant number will be prefixed in the answer and remaining will be the carry. The same process is repeated for the next number.
We will Multiply the digit at unit place that is 4 with 4 Resultant Number = 4 X 4 = 16 The unit place of the resultant number will be prefixed in the answer and remaining will be the carry Answer = 6 Carry = 1
We will Multiply the digit at tens place that is 5 with 4 and add the number at units place. Then add the carry if any Resultant Number = 5 X 4 + 4 + 1 = 24 + 1 = 25 The unit place of the resultant number will be prefixed in the answer and remaining will be the carry Answer = 56 Carry = 2
We will Multiply the digit at hundreds place that is 2 with 4 and add the number at tens place. Then add the carry if any Resultant Number = 2 X 4 + 5 + 2 = 13 + 2 = 15 The unit place of the resultant number will be prefixed in the answer and remaining will be the carry Answer = 556 Carry = 1
We will Multiply the digit at Thousands place that is 6 with 4 and add the number at hundreds place. Then add the carry if any Resultant Number = 6 X 4 + 2 + 1 = 26 + 1 = 27 The unit place of the resultant number will be prefixed in the answer and remaining will be the carry Answer = 7556 Carry = 2
We will Multiply the digit at Ten Thousands place that is 0 with 4 and add the number at thousands place. Then add the carry if any Resultant Number = 0 X 4 + 6 + 2 = 6 + 2 = 8 The resultant number will be prefixed in the answer Answer = 87556 |
It was a good experience with Abhyas Academy. I even faced problems in starting but slowly and steadily overcomed. Especially reasoning classes helped me a lot.
